Field Training Exercise (FTX)
Cadets are to be dropped off on Friday, May 31 at 0900hrs (9 am) wearing their FTU’s (field training uniform) with all the items listed on the supply list. This is an overnight exercise where they will continue developing their field training, navigation and trekking skills. All meals will be provided but please eat prior to showing up on the Friday as dinner in not provided. The cadets are to be picked up at the same location on Sunday, June 1 at 1600hrs (4 pm). Summer Stand-Down
During the period of 11 Jun 25 and 1 Sep 25, 180 RCACC will “stand-down” all Cadet Training and Activities, both virtual and in-person. This decision and direction will serve to provide an opportunity for all our members to take the time to rest and recover.

Spring Break Stand-Down
During the period of 26 Mar 25 and 31 Mar 25, 180 RCACC will “stand-down” all Cadet Training and Activities, both virtual and in-person. This decision and direction will serve to provide an opportunity for all our members to take the time to rest and recover.



Regimental Day
Regimental Day is our Canadian Armed Forces familiarization day. Field Training Uniforms (FTU’s) is the dress for the day and if you don’t have those issued yet then appropriate civilian attire.
This event will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 0900hrs (9 am) to 1600 hrs (4 pm) at the LCol Philip L. Debney Armoury (8403 Roper Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 6T5, Canada) and lunch will be provided.

Mess Dinner @ Westmount Community League
The Commanding Officer, Parents Committee, Cadets and Staff of 2836 Royal Canadian Army Cadets cordially invite you to join them as their Honoured Guest at their Annual Mess Dinner on Saturday, 22 February 2025 at 1800hrs (6 pm) for 1830hrs (6:30 pm) at the Westmount Community League (click for google map) Hall 10978 127 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 0S9. Please confirm pick up time when cadet is dropped off.

Attendance of this event is for those who have previously signed up and confirmed their intention to attend.



Field Training Exercise (FTX)
180 RCACC will be taking part in an outdoor winter activity training activity at Lessard Lake. Cadets will be training outside for the entirety of the weekend. Capt Welter and MWO Bibby are certified Cold Weather Instructors that will be teaching the cadets how the Army functions outdoors in the winter. Our goal is for the cadets to have a good experience so they will want to continue doing adventure training in the Cadet program.
Drop off at the Alberta Aviation Museum 11410 Kingsway Ave NW Edmonton (click for google map) on Friday evening at 1730hrs (5:30 pm) with the bus leaving at 1800hrs (6 pm) SHARP. Pickup on Sunday afternoon at 1600hrs (4 pm). Participating Corps include 2836 RCACC, 2561 RCACC, 2551 RCACC and 180 RCACC. Wear Field Training Uniform (FTU) or appropriate civilian clothing if your FTU’s haven’t been issued yet.
Below you will find a kit list of items that the cadets MUST bring on this activity. As well as a permission form that will need to be filled out and returned to the corps before the cadets get on the bus. Winter boots must be insulated - FTU boots, running shoes, hiking boots, rubber boots are not acceptable winter boots.
- It is important that Cadets be prepared to dress for cold weather as they will be training outside all weekend.
- Opportunities for Cadets to charge cell phones will be limited.
- Personal Hygiene Kit includes the following: Small hand towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant (not spray), feminine hygiene products as required.
- Wide-mouth water bottles are recommended in order to minimize impact of water freezing in spout. Also bring an additional cup for hot liquids.
- Sleeping bags and air mattress will be provided.
- While additional cold weather gear will be issued at the training area, all personnel must be properly dressed for cold weather travel to and from the training area. Cold weather gear issued at the training area will have to be returned prior to travel back to LHQ.

Kit Day Sr Cadets
Kit inspection day for senior cadets (only silver star and above) in preparation for the ADA Fundamental Weekend (FTX) to be held the following weekend. Senior cadets are to show up at the Brig. James Curry Jefferson Armoury (click here for google map) located at 11630 109 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5G 3H6. Training will be conducted from 0900hrs (9 am) to 1600hrs (4 pm). Lunch will be provided and will be a Subway sandwich, a cookie and a bottle of water. FTU’s will be the dress for the day and bring a water bottle.


Sports Day @ Debney Armoury
Wear appropriate civilian sports clothing and bring water bottle. Drop off at Debney Armoury (click for google map) located at 8403 Roper Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 6T5. Timing is from 1000hrs (10 am) to 1600hrs (4 pm) and pizza lunch will be provided.

Holiday Dinner @ Kingsway Legion (Royal Canadian Legion Br. 175)
180 20th Field Artillery Regiment, RCACC & Parent’s Support Committee of 180 are hosting the Annual Dining Event on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at the Kingsway Legion (Royal Canadian Legion Br. 175) at 1800hrs/6 pm (14339 50th Street NW / Dinner to be served at 1830hrs/6:30 pm).
You must have received or purchased a ticket to attend. Dress for the evening will be your FTU’s.

Remembrance Day Ceremony
Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Kingsway Legion will begin at 1030hrs (10:30 am). Please have the cadets arrive at 10 am and dressed for the weather.
